· This research aims to develop a cooperative algorithm for local parameter estimation with guaranteed convergence property. We considered a linear stochastic model and proposed a cooperative algorithm gSPAWN based on belief propagation. We derived technique conditions under which the algorithm was guaranteed to converge. We also provided a case study on applying the algorithm in localization of wireless sensor networks.
· This research aims to study robust methods for self-localization of sensors in urban environments without the use of GPS. We carried out theoretical analysis for the tracking algorithms using signal-of-opportunity (SOOP), which provides a design guidance for parameter selections in algorithm development. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm in practice, we implemented the receiving prototype on software-defined radio testbeds. We also carried out the investigation of integrating SOOP and IMU measurements.
